To add downloaded applicant CVs to Workable, upload the resume files to the correct job and stage, then check the candidate records Workable creates. This is a manual handoff. A folder of PDFs, a ZIP archive and a CSV index are different things; none automatically synchronizes a LinkedIn applicant list with Workable.
This guide covers files you are authorized to use for recruitment. Waslio makes Resume Downloader for LinkedIn Hiring, which saves accessible CV attachments from supported Hiring and Hiring Pro applicant pages. It is not a Workable integration and does not support Recruiter or Recruiter Lite.
LinkedIn prohibits third-party extensions that scrape, alter its appearance or automate activity, and warns of account restrictions. Local processing or access to a CV does not establish permission. Prefer native manual downloads or approved integrations where available. Read LinkedIn’s policy before choosing a workflow.
1. Prepare the resume files, not an import spreadsheet
Start with the individual CV documents. If your export is a ZIP, extract it before using Workable’s resume-upload workflow. Keep the original archive and index unchanged while you work from a copy. That is our recommended batch-control practice, not a Workable requirement.
Waslio’s index.csv records applicant names, filenames and export status. Use it to reconcile the files you received. It is not a Workable candidate-import template, does not supply all candidate fields and should not be treated as a direct CSV import.
Before uploading, open a few PDFs and match them to their index rows. Resolve missing attachments or failed downloads separately. An index row without a saved CV cannot be turned into a resume upload. The download troubleshooting checklist helps distinguish those exceptions.
2. Check your Workable access and file formats
Workable’s guide says uploading is available to users assigned to a job, excluding limited-access Candidate Reviewers. If the destination is unavailable, our recommendation is to ask your administrator to check your access rather than move the files to an unrelated job.
Supported formats include PDF, DOC and DOCX; consult the guide for its full list. Workable recommends batches of 100 or fewer resumes and contacting its team about thousands. A large download does not necessarily fit into one destination upload.
Before a manual upload, confirm whether your existing application workflow already delivered the person’s application to Workable. Review that record first instead of creating another candidate just because you have a local CV copy.
Ask your administrator which privacy and retention settings apply to imported or Sourced candidates. Workable warns of automatic deletion in some account configurations; check its conditions before choosing the stage.
3. Choose the job and stage before uploading
Workable documents two routes. Choose the one that matches your hiring team’s process:
- To Sourced: open the job’s three-dot menu on the dashboard, select Upload Candidates, choose the documents, then confirm Add to Sourced.
- To a specific stage: open that stage, use Add candidates > Add resume (or drop files into the pipeline), then confirm the destination.
Tags, source and comments are optional upload fields. Our recommendation: agree how your team records imported LinkedIn applications before setting them. A source describes provenance; it should not imply that the applicant completed a Workable application.
4. Test a small batch and check the parsed records
Our recommendation is to upload a small sample first, inspect it, and only then continue with the remaining files. Workable parses contact information and other CV fields, and uses email addresses to check for existing candidates.
Parsing is a starting point, not verification. For each sample record, check:
- The attached document belongs to the person shown.
- The name and contact fields reflect the CV accurately.
- The record is in the intended job and pipeline stage.
- Any existing-candidate or duplicate situation has been reviewed.
Do not assume matching names identify the same person or that duplicate checks resolve every case. Correct mistakes in the candidate profile. Treat the CV as a document handoff, not a replacement for LinkedIn screening answers, feedback or application history: check those separately in the source system if your process needs them.
5. Close the handoff with a clear exception list
Record which files were uploaded, which records need correction and which attachments remain unavailable. Keep that working note separate from the original export index. Confirm the destination records before deleting or moving any local copies under your organization’s retention process.
For broader folder and version handling, see organizing downloaded applicant resumes. For the earlier export stage, use the LinkedIn applicant-resume download guide.
Evaluating Waslio for the file-download step? Review Resume Downloader’s supported applicant pages and output options. It downloads existing attachments your account can access on Hiring and Hiring Pro; it does not create missing CVs, bypass restrictions or send candidate records into Workable.
