First check whether the resume opens manually in LinkedIn. If the attachment is unavailable to your account, a downloader cannot recover it. If it opens normally but the bulk export fails, check the page type, download status and export format in that order.

This checklist covers Waslio’s Resume Downloader for LinkedIn Hiring, which works on Hiring and Hiring Pro applicant lists. It is for employers downloading job applicants’ attached CVs. If you are looking for a resume you uploaded as a job seeker, use LinkedIn’s instructions for downloading your own resume instead.

The download button is missing

Check that you are on the Applicants page for a job you posted or manage in LinkedIn Hiring or Hiring Pro. A public job listing, profile search, Recruiter or Recruiter Lite is a different interface. Installing the extension does not make those pages supported.

After installation, refresh the applicant page and confirm that the extension is enabled in Chrome. Open one applicant and check that you can view a resume. If the supported page loads normally but the button remains absent, record the extension version and the visible error, if any. A LinkedIn interface change may require a product fix; repeated refreshes are not a reliable solution.

For the normal installation and export sequence, see how to download applicant resumes from a LinkedIn job post.

An applicant appears in the index but has no PDF

Read that row’s file status in index.csv, then check the same applicant manually. The extension records missing resumes rather than manufacturing empty documents. A visible applicant record does not guarantee that an accessible CV attachment exists.

If the attachment is visible manually, check Chrome’s download list for an interrupted or blocked file. Confirm the saved filename before retrying. Keep your current index so you can distinguish the original attempt from the later result.

For example, “28 downloaded files from 30 processed rows” is not enough to diagnose a failure. Inspect the two exception rows. Do not delete a candidate record or mark an application incomplete merely because a local document is absent.

The export stopped or LinkedIn asked me to sign in

Stop the export and inspect the LinkedIn page. Complete any normal sign-in or account check yourself. Only continue when the applicant list is available again and you can open an attachment manually. Waslio does not bypass LinkedIn account restrictions.

Return to the same job and use the saved export’s resume control when available. Keep the previously saved documents and index until you have checked the new result. Avoid starting several overlapping exports: they make it harder to identify which files belong to which attempt.

If the interface still fails after normal access is restored, stop retrying and collect a short diagnostic note for support. Do not share your password, session cookies or candidate files.

Check the destination and the export format

Individual PDFs normally save under Downloads/Resumes/<job>/. Check Chrome’s download list as well as the folder: an export progress message and a completed file download are not the same evidence. If Chrome asks to allow multiple downloads, review the prompt for this export.

ZIP mode packages resumes with the CSV index. For a large job, individual PDFs use less browser memory and let you inspect completed files as they arrive. Keep the applicant tab open and avoid competing exports. After a ZIP download, extract it and open a sample document before treating the batch as ready.

If you have a spreadsheet but expected CV documents, read applicant spreadsheet exports versus resume files. Those outputs solve different problems.

Verify the recovery and report only useful diagnostics

  • Confirm the intended job and filters before resuming.
  • Open a few saved PDFs and check they are readable.
  • Compare the index’s file statuses with the completed files.
  • Keep missing attachments separate from technical failures.
  • Record the browser and extension versions, export mode, error text and the step where it stopped.
  • If sharing a screenshot with support, remove candidate names, contact details and resume content first.

Once the files are verified, use the reviewer handoff guide to organize them. If you still need help, the Resume Downloader product page has support details, supported interfaces and current plan information. This checklist describes the documented workflow checked on 15 October 2026; it does not guarantee compatibility with a future LinkedIn page change.
