UAE Shopify stores usually run same-day delivery in one of two ways: on-demand riders booked per order, or a scheduled same-day service with a daily cut-off. Many use both, with a next-day courier behind them. Choose couriers on coverage, API access, cash on delivery and tracking, then automate dispatch from Shopify so each order reaches the right courier without copy and paste.
Courier details in this guide come from public courier materials and integration documentation we reviewed in July 2026. Services and coverage change, so treat them as a starting point and confirm them with each courier. Waslio Connect is not affiliated with any courier named here.
On-demand, same-day and next-day: know the tiers
| Tier | How it works | Typical fit | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-demand | A rider is booked for each order and collects from your pickup point shortly after booking. | Urgent orders, food, flowers, gifts | Rider availability at busy times; cancellation fees once a rider is on the way |
| Scheduled same-day | Orders booked before a cut-off are collected and delivered the same day. | Steady daily volume across a city or emirate | Cut-off times; late orders roll to the next day |
| Next-day or economy | A parcel network collects in batches and delivers on a schedule. | Non-urgent orders and cross-emirate shipments | Labels, pickup schedules, longer delivery windows |
A customer-facing “same-day” promise can be kept by either of the first two tiers, so set it by zone and time of day. “Order before 12:00 for same-day delivery” is a promise a scheduled service can keep. “Delivered within the hour” needs on-demand riders and a pickup point that is ready when they arrive.
UAE couriers by delivery model
As of July 2026, based on each courier’s public materials and the integration documentation available to us:
| Courier | Delivery model | Publicly stated | API access |
|---|---|---|---|
| noon Send | On-demand riders | Rider network for businesses; COD available | Through your Send for Business account or account manager |
| Careem Express | On-demand (Captain dispatch) | Operates in 11 cities across the UAE, KSA and Qatar, with live tracking; confirm COD with Careem | Integration guide shared by your Careem representative |
| Quiqup | On-demand, 4-hour scheduled, same-day and next-day | Dubai-based; temperature-controlled options; confirm coverage outside Dubai | Public API documentation with a staging environment |
| Jeebly | Same-day in Dubai, next-day across all seven emirates, express options | QR-code COD collection; proof of delivery by signature or photo | Documentation issued per account |
| swftbox | Scheduled same-day, 12 PM cut-off | UAE-wide; WhatsApp tracking where customers can update their address; up to three delivery attempts | API on request; ready-made Shopify app |
| iMile | Express parcel network (not hyperlocal) | UAE and KSA domestic express; forward and reverse shipments | Credentials issued by iMile per seller |
| Aramex | Scheduled and next-day | Rate, shipping and tracking APIs; COD | Public developer APIs with test credentials |
| Yango Delivery | Express and same-day in Dubai | API documentation describes free cancellation only until the courier reaches pickup | Public API documentation; confirm current UAE business availability |
Two related names often cause confusion. Lyve says its UAE last-mile operations run through Jeebly, and it onboards integration partners through a formal application. BARQ Fleet publishes API documentation, but it serves Saudi Arabia rather than the UAE.
In Waslio Courier, noon Send is production-ready. The Quiqup, Careem Express, Jeebly, Lyve, iMile, BARQ Fleet (KSA), Yango Delivery, swftbox and Aramex connectors are in Beta: built, with sandbox validation pending.
What to look for in a same-day courier
Coverage by area and by hour
Ask which areas your pickup point serves, at which hours, and on which days. A courier can be strong in one emirate and thin in another. Quiqup describes its coverage as Dubai-centric, for example, while Jeebly lists next-day delivery across all seven emirates. Get the answer in writing per area, because it becomes your routing table.
API access and testing
Some couriers publish API documentation and a staging environment; others share them only after commercial onboarding. Partner-gated access is not a bad sign, but it adds an account-manager step before any app can connect. Ask how status updates are delivered (pushed to a webhook or polled), whether there is a test environment, and whether bookings can be cancelled through the API.
Cash on delivery
Confirm whether the courier collects cash, how it is collected, how quickly it is remitted, and what it costs. Not every on-demand service collects cash, and COD terms vary even between couriers that do. If one courier cannot collect cash, make sure unpaid orders are never routed to it.
Tracking and proof of delivery
Customers want a live link they can open on a phone. Your team wants the status reflected in Shopify, plus proof of delivery when a customer disputes a drop-off. Ask what proof is captured, such as a signature, photo or one-time code.
Cancellations and failed attempts
On-demand cancellations can carry a fee once a rider is assigned or arrives. Yango’s API documentation, for instance, makes free cancellation end when the courier reaches pickup. Ask how many delivery attempts are included and what happens to a parcel after the last one.
How to automate dispatch from Shopify
Manual dispatch means someone watches new orders, copies details into a courier tool and pastes tracking back. Automating it comes down to five decisions.
1. Decide when an order is ready
Choose the event that triggers dispatch: order created, paid, fulfilled or tagged. On-demand riders can arrive soon after booking, so book when the parcel is packed, not when the order lands. A tag such as “ready-to-ship”, added by your packing team or by Shopify Flow, is often the cleanest trigger. If you accept cash on delivery, remember that unpaid orders will not fire a “paid” trigger.
2. Route by zone, time and tags
Write routing rules as an ordered list where the first match wins, and give each rule a priority list of couriers. An illustrative set:
- Orders tagged “chilled” go to a courier with temperature-controlled options.
- Orders placed before the scheduled courier’s cut-off go to that same-day service.
- Later orders in your core zones go to an on-demand courier, with a second on-demand courier as backup.
- Everything else goes to your default courier.
In Waslio, a zone matches text in the delivery address, so list the area names your customers actually write, including common spellings.
3. Fail over when no rider is assigned
For on-demand couriers, the risk is a booking that sits without a rider. A dispatch waterfall sets a window: if no rider is assigned in time, the booking is cancelled and the next courier on the list is booked. Check each courier’s cancellation fee rules before choosing the window. For scheduled couriers, failover happens at booking time, such as a rejected booking or a missed cut-off. Waslio also skips couriers that do not collect cash when an order is unpaid.
4. Confirm the drop-off pin
Riders navigate to coordinates, not to the prose of an address. Confirm the pin before booking, capture coordinates at checkout if you can, and reuse a pin once it has been confirmed for an address.
5. Give customers a tracking link that works
Waslio provides a branded tracking page and adds the link to the Shopify fulfilment when the rider picks up the order, so it can travel with your Shopify shipping notification. Waslio does not send SMS or WhatsApp messages. If you offer delivery slots, time dispatch to the slot rather than the order time, so a rider is not booked hours early; Waslio supports delivery-slot timing, subject to your plan.
Go-live checklist
- Coverage confirmed in writing for each area, hour and pickup point.
- A demo or test booking completed end to end, including the tracking page on a phone.
- Customer phone number required at checkout.
- Pins checked for your most common delivery areas.
- Dispatch trigger chosen, with COD orders covered.
- A fallback courier connected, or a written manual fallback.
- Cancellation fees and COD remittance terms understood for every courier.
- One named person who reviews failed or stuck deliveries each day.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between same-day and on-demand delivery?
On-demand delivery books a rider for each order, who collects from your pickup point shortly after booking. Scheduled same-day delivery collects orders placed before a daily cut-off and delivers them later that day. On-demand suits urgent orders; scheduled same-day suits steady daily volume.
Which UAE couriers offer same-day delivery?
Based on public courier materials reviewed in July 2026: noon Send and Careem Express offer on-demand delivery; Quiqup offers on-demand, scheduled and same-day options; Jeebly offers same-day in Dubai; swftbox offers scheduled same-day with a 12 PM cut-off; and Yango Delivery offers express delivery in Dubai. Confirm current coverage and terms with each courier.
Can Shopify book a UAE courier automatically?
Shopify needs an app or custom integration to book a local courier. An app such as Waslio can dispatch an order when it is created, paid, fulfilled or tagged, including tags added by Shopify Flow, using your own courier accounts.
Do I need my own courier accounts?
With Waslio, yes. Deliveries run on your own courier accounts, at your own rates. Waslio is the software that connects them to Shopify and does not charge for delivery.
Does Waslio send WhatsApp or SMS delivery updates?
No, not at the moment. Waslio provides a branded tracking page and adds the tracking link to the Shopify fulfilment when the rider picks up the order.
Waslio Connect is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by noon, Shopify or any courier named here. Courier details reflect public courier materials and integration documentation reviewed in July 2026; services, coverage, prices and terms change, so confirm them with the courier. Waslio plan prices and limits are listed on the Shopify App Store.
